I tried your BWO nymph yesterday on the Waioeka River down-under in NZ and had my best day in 2 years. 17 fish hooked including a 5lb brown and a 5lb rainbow, all returned to grow bigger. I tied them on a size 14 and 16 barbless dry fly hooks. Thanks for such an effective simple tie.

Thanks for another great lil pattern. I really appreciate how you always explain everything so well. You are one of my favorite fly Tyers to watch because of the way you explain and tell the story.🍻

I’d love to spend a day on the water with you. Your teaching style is so down to earth it that everything you say makes sense!

Kelly great pattern. I used it as a trailer behind a small parachute adams this weekend on the Yellowstone. We found fish sipping emergers and it was killer. Thanks

Erine, sorry to hear you have reached that age, I sell them on line. I just watched this, don't usually watch my stuff, hate my voice. Anyway I noticed the wings look pretty big in the pictures, there is really not much material there just looks like it, when the stuff gets wet its almost invisible, and I also use pearl Ice Dub for that wing/gill but it is a touch more coarse. Hey George if you see this Page 180 in Joe's book Trout Fishing are the flies Dave Whitlock tied. thanks to everybody for watching

Gee about 33 years ago I ran out of turkey wing feathers, but I still needed to tie some hare's ear nymphs for an day trip to my favorite stream here in CT, I used Peacock herl for the wing case and the fly just worked way better been doing that on my nymphs ever since! I like way you do the gills, I am going to have to do that myself, the season is getting some steam now- Lots of fish around to catch! I still wish I could retire to the banks of the Madison! Joe Brooks "Trout" is a great book, I have mine since 1973 or so!

i just got into tying my own flies, and i have to say this is my favorite one so far. Worked like a charm here in the Ardennes (Belgium). I caught alot of chub with it fishing it first like a dry fly and then like a nymph. Also its very cheap to make

Great clear explanations. In many cases it is just another fly tying video. Great stuff.

This is a real 'fishing' fly, quick to tie and who cares if it gets a chomping from the trout or your pliers, I'll have another half dozen in my box. So many featured on videos and Facebook nowadays are amazing and beautiful but impractical to actually fish. Some are so realistic I would break down and cry if I twanged it off on streamside brush on the first cast! Amazing talents out there in the 'realistic' tying sector, but flies are meant to be fished to fish, not fishermen. This is a fisherman's fly, and a dang good one at that.

Question: any thoughts on using UV cure resin to coat the wing case? Seen it done, a lot lately, makes sense for strength as well, but curious of your thoughts regarding a potential downside. Great teaching video as always. Thanks

Hey Kelly. Hello from Ireland. Watched some of your videos this afternoon and they are terrific. No bull...just good info and buckets of common sense approach. Decided to tie up some of those nymphs for use this Spring here in the Emerald Isle. Really like the effect with the pearlescent gills running down along the side of the nymph. Nice touch. Also, the peacock Ice dubbing is the best stuff to replace the real herl. Will let you know how the fly fishes.
Lastly, I want to send you a few personal patterns of my own that work so well here in Europe. Is there an address to reach you? Would love your feedback on these patterns of mine. Sláinte. Peter Dunne.
