6' draft, 6' in white at low tide, zero swell, you're "only" going to impact beer cans and dropped anchors while thinly dragging your hull along the bottom. Add a 4' swell, however, and you're going to be riding 2' above the bottom to 2' aground on the bottom. Perhaps 12' would be a better selection in sea states other than 1. Just a tip, which, if I'm not mistaken, is mentioned in the manual with respect to choosing a chart depth greater than your draft.

Good explanation of the menus navigation. However as a professional Machinery Controls Software Testing Director I have to lay critique on Raymarine for over complicating their menus and the number of selections necessary to reach the desired menu. Way too many clicks to get to the destination to effect changes. Not a good design for something as simple as reading a chart or being able to identify depth zones in an area or harbor.

So what is the bottom line with Raymarine? It’s a development problem. Their QC process should have forced changes in the product and how navigating menus that run 5 or 7 levels deep to get the display you want or need quickly. That right, they screwed up. However let’s just say it’s not what it should be users should be able to access the displays they use most frequently quickly and without loosing their place deep into navigating the displays.
