Just to note, that brand that sold him the kit is really reliable and their customer service is amazing. I once ordered an iMac Pro keyboard, and they forgot the charger. I emailed them about it, and they shipped the exact charger (it had the paper around it and fit exactly into the keyboard box) for free from Illinois to California. Other World Computing is a really good company imo for anyone looking for Mac accessories or parts

There was a better way to do this. You could've cloned your existing files from your 6gb hdd to ur ssd and kept all your past data

Take It appart and paint the yellow bezel white. It looks like new and greatly improves it. Also get 100 grit sand papper and hit the handle then polish it to remove the yellow. If the bezel is cracked paint the back of the clear front. It hides the crack and makes it far nicer looking.

As it was pointed out already you could have just cloned the hdd making this so much easier.

i found one of these hiking in the woods with some friends a few days ago. it seemed pretty worn to the elements but i still turned it over to see the inside of it. motherboard was kinda like haphazardly thrown in there upside down so i flipped it over and there was a FUCKING WASP NEST IN THAT MF. never ran so fast in my life
