Bridges-opening on Neva River, Saint Petersburg

One of Saint Petersburg’s delights is the opening of the bridges on Neva River. Although the bridges lifting up to allow the ships to pass is a great spectacle regardless of where you watch it from – the embankment or the actual bridge, I think the best place to observe it is when you are taking a boat ride on the river. There are so many companies offering boat rides for this purpose and while you ride, they are keeping you entertained with good music (sometimes live music), food and drinks. This unique phenomenon is an absolute must-see when traveling to Saint Petersburg, regardless of the time of the year, however the spectacle is at its peak during the “White nights” time of the year.
