SFU MATH152 9.1 9.2 Modeling with Differential Equations, Direction Fields (main lecture)

SFU Math 152 Section 9.1 and 9.2. This is the main lecture for section 9.1 and 9.2. This lecture introduces the idea of a differential equation and how to check a proposed solution of a differential equation. Also, direction fields (also called slope fields) are covered; these provide a visual solution to the differential equation when the analytic solution is not known. The idea of equilibria and limiting behaviour of solutions are also touched upon.
