This movie was self-aware that's what made it so funny. It was shot well a plotline that was easy to follow and entertaining from beginning to end. I did like the shootouts that provided most of the action. Great review, always enjoy your style and delivery.

You hit the nail on the head that the movie is aware that Shaft himself is overly masculine and that it's doing it intentionally. Some of the reviews I've seen for the movie fail to realize this and it baffles me.

One year at the Virginia Film Festival they showed the original Shaft movie. Richard Roundtree was there and spoke afterwards. My opinion for this film was well it came alive when Roundtree came on screen.

Great review! Now I'm often seen as a SJW-type of person but I actually thought it was pretty funny lol Overall, I had a good time with the film as well! Anytime we get an unleashed Samuel L Jackson is a good time for me! Plus I love Regina Hall and then we get the beautiful duo of Jessie T Usher and Alexandra Shipp? Yeah, it was a fun time :p

Jessie T. Usher was probably the weakest element of the film. He reminded me of South Park's PC Principal but came off as annoying.
