(The Students)
The Students were a doo-wop vocal group which formed in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1956. Although they only released four sides, two of them - I'm So Young and Everyday of the Week - became doo-wop standards. "I'm So Young" in particular became hugely popular (and durable), and has been covered by groups as diverse as the Beach Boys, Rosie and the Originals, and The Ronettes.
Both "I'm So Young" and "Everyday of the Week" were written by William H. "Prez" Tyus, Jr., a local Cincinnati high schooler. Tyus wrote the songs and gave them to a local African-American vocal group called the D'Italians. Once a recording contract with Checker Records was secured, the group changed its name to The Students, and it was under this name that Tyus's two classic doo-wop songs were recorded.

In my humble opinion, this song is up there with any of the Teenagers, Schoolboys, Kodak's, Desires, Zircons, Valentines or Passions songs. Harmony is spot on. This is really good.

Perhaps the greatest doo wop group of all time IMHO. I never tire of listening to the 4 memorable songs they gave us. I just close my eyes and I'm immediately back in the 50's. I'm so happy I got to meet Prez Tyus several years ago and to finally be able to see a photo of the group which had been unseen for many years.
