Most aggressive shihtzu I've done in a while

You are so gentle and calm with him, my puppy Quest is exactly the same when trying to groom his face and he hates the blow dryer also😮

My Shih Tzu is like this when I try cutting a little hair at home but at the groomers he’s an Angel 😂

All u have to do … is change the comb, he obviously has a problem with it. It looks to be too big for his fur anyway! As an owner of Shih Tzu I can tell you if they don’t like something; they never will ! There is no negotiating with their anxiety. I see a lot of discomfort for no good reason- also note that they are prone to collapsed trachea- so holding him on his neck with your hand is NOT recommended. I feel sorry for the poor pup! This is not aggression on the dog, this is a show of absolute FEAR which is bordering abuse to the pup! The more you persist the more anxiety he has and it looks like you keep putting pressure on his neck when he reacts- how would you act if someone had their hands on your neck like that? Esp. For dogs- the neck is extremely vulnerable to them. I don’t think your a good groomer! You don’t even stop a moment to ease and pet him to calm him down!

I do my own Maltese shihtzu mix because I’m embarrassed to the him to groomers.I make him tired by letting him run outside then wash him .He gets a little calmer afterwards

EXACTLY like my Maltese! I cant hardly get hom groomed so I am looking into getting him a script from the vet to sedate him for grooming but I wont even trust that to work until I see it for myself!

Are you seriously squeezing his throat! You think that’s gonna calm him down?! Your thumb is right on his trachea for God sake. That’s only going to make him more frightened and more panicked. Great job! Instead of yelling at him try some gentle words some patience, different techniques. You are what I fear when I bring my dog to the groomers. I hope the owners saw us and never bring him back.

Exactly like my 2.5 month old shih tzu. He’s so aggressive he’s bit me 3 times and my brother twice like I don’t what to do. He’s weirdly aggressive towards feet for some reason. I play with him plenty but I’m gonna try to tire him out at the park to see if not getting enough exercise is the reason for this
