Best box under the shield is the Zidoo H6. I own two of them with the shield as well. Allwinner H6 cpu, 2gb ddr 4, Netflix HD, YouTube 4k (1440p), HDR 10, android 7.1. Solid little box. I modded mine with external antennas to improve Wi-Fi since they're in a metal enclosure.

I LOVE my shield the one other thing that the 2015 version of the nvidia shield has that the 2017 version doesn't have which was wildly important to me for my setup is an IR receiver.

Just a note....you concentrated heavily on what a monster the GPU is. But the issue is that most modern emulators are EXTREMELY CPU heavy. They use the CPU more than anything. Which is why if you watch other videos or read forums on suggestions on building an emulation box, they always say splurge on the CPU and get a so so GPU. So for emulators, you want the android boxes with the best CPU for emulation.

Thanks for doing all these videos, I subscribed to your channel. I have a question for you: I already own an Odroid XU4, and I run Recalbox on it. I am in the need of an Android box for certain streaming apps and emulation, and I don't want to use the Odroid due to lack of Wifi. I realize the Shield TV is the best android box out there for emulation, but I don't want to spend that much. I'd like to spend under $75, and I'd like to emulate N64 and Dreamcast. What is the best Android box out there for emulation performance aside from the Shield TV?
