Sister Paxton survives she I believe she is able to call 911 and the butterfly is sister Barnes. I think the injury of the stomach was not enough to kill her and that’s and she’s just waiting for someone to arrive or eventually arrived.

I thought the ending pulled it off well. Sister Barnes' resurrection was the true miracle and was also proof of God hearing Sister Paxton's prayer, thus ending the debate. Although it sucks it didn't happen earlier for all the women locked up below. I'd love to see it again to pay closer attention to the butterfly motif. I thought the butterfly on the finger at the end was the perfect finale.

Also, with so much dialogue in the middle of the film, the acting really held my attention well. I enjoyed it!

Unless the writers verify, I think they left the ending very interestingly put to have fun with giving the viewers the freedom to believe whatever the heck they think happened. But the vanishing of the butterfly told me that the butterfly wasn't physical. What does that mean, idk, but that's the point.
