rules? well, that can be loosely translated....now my go at this was from no fire at all to a crude representation of a knife. Forged from a railroad spike. It must cut at least some paper and be "stabby" enough to kill a zombie

Give yourself bonus time for keeping the shirt clean and cufflinks intact

Forged in Fire: "you have 3 hours to forge a blade"

Cleanest shirt on any blacksmith I’ve seen.

Dan love that your making video's again. As far as a 10 minute challenge, that's a really hard challenge for any smith using coal. Maybe propane would be a little quicker but the refractory would still be super cold.

Really showing the weirdness of Nova Scotia weather lol most people wouldn’t believe these videos are in order. Probably snow again now.

You've got a hand crank grinder mounted right on your vise table... I would have used that instead of the file, but the zombies would have already made you a good looking corpse by that point. Your grinder has a better wheel on it than mine does... but it still works... or it did decades ago when I was sharpening pocket knives as a kid (and it had the same wheel on it back then..).

It's a worthy challenge, particularly when half of your allotted time is necessary just to get the metal up to temperature. You might be able to make it pointy enough (just a square taper) in under ten minutes, but also making it sharp enough to cut paper... Unless I wind up seeing someone beat this challenge, I don't think it can be done. It's just not enough time from a cold start. It's still a worthwhile challenge, and a good video.

Respekt for wearing a white shirt while forging! And it is still clean at the end of the video. That's impressive!

Man the white shirt is killing me! I cringed every time I thought about my luck with getting dirt on my clothes when I do anything.

Good try, but to be fair you shouldn't start time till the first strike.

If zombies were coming, I'd use the hammer. It's pretty hard to get a knife through a skull lol

The only way I could come close would be if I used an angle grinder instead of a forge.

If I went out to my shop just wearing a white shirt it would look like I rolled out there and back to the house if I never picked up a tool . White clothing hates me
