Mactan Shrine and the Battle of Mactan | Cebu Tourist Attractions

Mactan Shrine is one of Cebu's tourist attractions that marks some of the most important events in Philippine's history. This is where the Battle of Mactan was held and the place Magellan was killed by local chieftain Lapu-Lapu. I take a look at the history of Mactan Shrine and the Battle of Mactan in a quick video guide. The story goes that Magellan led 60 Spanish soldiers to engage Chief Lapu Lapu. Far out numbered the Spanish were defeated with the death of Magallen.
This is an update after Lapu-Lapu City has gone into MGCQ and is allowing some tourist attractions in Cebu to reopen. This is how tourism is slowly opening again in the Philippines.

In 1521 when Magellan was killed by Lapu-Lapu, Magellan was 40 and Lapu-Lapu was ten years younger around 30. Lapu-Lapu never reached the age of 70 as you mentioned. He died young at the ager of 51. You should read The Bisayan by Sofronio Ursal re: Lapu-Lapu
