Jason Weigandt, Steve Matthes, and Jason Thomas preview the upcoming 11 rounds of the 2023 AMA Pro Motocross Championship kicking off on May 27 in Southern California. The 250 class is wide open with reigning two-time champion Jett Lawrence graduating to the 450 class. Will it be his brother Hunter Lawrence who steps in and takes over or will other proven winners like Jo Shimoda, Justin Cooper, RJ Hampshire, Jeremy Martin, or maybe even someone else walk home with a title?

The 250 class is a heck of a lot deeper than the 450 this season outdoors. Thanks for the preview shows guys.

I’m more excited for the 250 class this year than the 450 class. So many variables.

I know the bikes/tracks/weather are a lot different in the US as opposed to overseas, but I think people are overlooking vialle’s ability to compete for a title outdoors this year

Might be the first season in a longtime that the 250 class has more anticipation than the 450 class. Cooper, Lawrence deegan, shimoda, kitchen……

I think you guys are sleeping on Shimoda. He absolutely dominated some motos last year. Just go back and watch the motos from last year. I just watched ironman 2022 and Shimoda won by a mile, Weege even said on the broadcast that Shimoda has to be one of the favorites for next year.

Got to be right there with HLaw and Cooper. Idk, I'm rooting for my boy Jo!

Love the fact that it HAS to be brought up that Matthes is a former factory mechanic as if he has served our country lol

Definitely the class to watch this summer is 250 Pro... Some bad dudes in this class! I like too many riders in this class to favor one over the others. I think we'll see 8 different moto winners at least. I'll leave it at that... It could get Dangerous! Young guns being Hunted... Gloves will come off. Sushi will be thrown down, Kitchen sinks will be flying... Don't Barcia each other out there... but definitely rub elbows push one another's limits without sending one another to the Alpinestar Medic truck... Love all your grit and effort I've seen from both coasts in Supercross... Get after it boyz!!! ✌😎

Justin Cooper, hunter Lawrence, Jeremy Martin and Tom vialle I could easily see anyone of them going the distance and earning the title. Race winners can add more to the list with a jo simonha, RJ Hampshire, Deegan and levi kitchen

250 class hasn’t been this deep since 2019 when AC, sexton, forkner and Ferrandis were all there still

Lawrence, shimoda, cooper, Hampshire, vialle, Jmart, deegan, the 250 class is going to be awesome this year. Anyone of them can win a moto on their day. The chase and Jett show will be awesome in the 450’s and I’m looking forward to seeing jett have to push 100% to see what he’s capable of when pushed to the limit.

Shimoda > Hunter > Cooper. Excited to see what Deegan does. Got 10th in the last round at Pala in 2022 and he has improved so much since then. Hopefully he gets his first pro win and I wouldn’t be surprised if he wins multiple races.

I’d be fine with Hunter or Coop winning the title but I Sushi is battling with them. I expect RJ & Vialle to be up front too & im Anxious to see how Deegan does for an entire outdoor schedule as well. 250s gona be exciting to watch this year

man it's so tough for these guys to stand out. such a stacked field out there. the 250 class is turning into a premier-like division these days with true veterans and solid consistent FAST racing.

Jo Shimoda will win the 250 championship. If Jo starts the season on the podium he will win the series. His only flaw last year was his starts in the first half of the series
