If you see me stop and say Hi!

I live in suburban Chicago, and I’m married to a USAF Viet Nam veteran, so you can believe it when I say I’ve been to Oshkosh many times. Wish I was going this year to say “hi” to my favorite YouTube cooking pilot. Unfortunately, since the old crew chief had a stroke 8 years ago, I’m grounded. Have a great time and fly safely!

Was too early in the morning (no one around the dynon tent, like 7am) but I got a pic with my youngest son and your plane this morning.

I like that you disclose your logic for your decisions. It really helps us non-pilots to understand what's going on and why.

Happy travels!

Glenn, if you happen to be watching the airshow anywhere near the announcer Danny Clisham, tell him his cousin Bill says hello!

I have been over Lake Michigan before, I can't get over how BIG it is.

Have a safe and enjoyable trip; I won't be able to make it to KOSH this time around... I'll have to catch you next year. My son in Florida is building a plane right now, and he also works in video production.

I have fond memories as a kid (circa 1970) flying to KOSH from Ohio with my uncle in his C172 for the "show". He told my aunt he thought I was just going to be a passenger but he discovered I was useful to give him a break by occasional copiloting, constantly watching for traffic, and nav work too.

My mom's family is from Oshkosh, but this is the first year I'll actually be there for the show (taking our kids) Hopefully we'll run in to you.

Don't forget to stop at Oaks and get your meltaways and Leon's for your custard :)

And here I was hoping you were going to say "So I chose to fly into James Clements Airport in Bay City, Michigan." If you hadn't guessed it I'm very close to there. Lol

not gonna make it to Osh, but I did make it to Ottawa last week, and then toured around southern Ontario before flying back to Dryden. The smoke was negligible flying there and back, just a little hazy.
Wawa, Gore Bay, Pembroke, Arnprior, Rockcliffe, Gatineau, Carp, Lyndsay, Oakwood, Wingham, Kincardine, Goderich, Hanover, Edenvale, Midland and Stanhope! 16 new airports and 18 runways in the logbook:) Missed a few I wanted to get to because of weather and time, but that means I'll have to just go back again :)

I have been 3 times, always driven. It's a 16 hour drive Don't fly despite my nickname. :) I will be back someday. Make sure to visit the seaplane base!

I just got back from a road trip from SS Marie to southern Ontario. The rain was coming down in buckets the whole way. I think any threat from fire is well and truly over. if only for a while.

Looking good for me to be able to come! I’m taking Oscar up for the test flight this afternoon, and if everything looks good, then I’ll be flying out on Friday afternoon. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Wish I was going! I went way back in 2000 in a Piper Arrow, our route there took us from CYSN to KPHN (Port Huron), to someplace south of Chicago and out to the west around the busy Chicago airspace into KOSH. The return trip was a dandy! We travelled north through KISQ (Schoolcraft County) and crossed the Canadian border at Sault Ste. Marie (CYSB) where we were stuck for three days due to summer thunder showers...from there it was CYVV and home again. It was a pretty cool trip and I'll go again, but it might have to wait until I retire to be able to make adequate time to travel!

The traffic pattern into there is tricky so many aircraft converging on one place . I hope you have a spotter and please be safe Glenn . Keep us updated !
