Canine Cancer Diet

Veterinarians are now advising that you feed your dog a low carbohydrate diet for cancer. Dr Jones cooks up a specific canine cancer diet, then tries it out on himself, Pippi and Tula :-)

Canine Cancer Diet for a 50lb dog

1cup of organic chicken, turkey or fish
1 cup of mixed vegetables
2 tablespoons of Flax oil
1 clove of garlic
500mg of 95% curcumin
3000mg of Fish Oil
600mg of Calcium citrate
400mg of Green Tea extract

I usually agree with all your wonderful information, however i do not feed my dog corn...even organic corn. Corn lingers in the digestive tract, hangs around and ferments. Also corn has issues with mycotoxins/aflotoxins. I am a stage 4 cancer survivor and i did it with diet and environmental changes.

Great suggestion, it is said, and I have personally experienced this, if you do not process the veggies and or fruit (blueberries and pears are great for cancer victims) it goes in one end and out the other. So, a suggestion would be using a food processor and grind up the veggies and fruits, so it is actually digested. I have been feeding fresh wholesome softly cooked meals for my dogs and cats for about 5 to 6 years now, since my research after losing my six Dobermans to cancer.

Love this topic, I make all homemade diets for my dog and cats too however, from everything I've read about flax oil, it should never be heated as it is too fragile and will not only lose its healthful benefits but also can turn the fats to harmful compounds. In fact, once the bottle is opened, it should be stored in the refrigerator and used in a timely manner as it tends to go rancid quickly.

I make a gallon of food a week here's a tip boil up some chicken feet in a large pan of water with one cap of apple cider vinegar it makes a jelly that is so good for our pets add one half cup of that to their food each night they love it. I keep mine in glass jars in the fridge and each week make a new batch. My dogs are on mostly a Keto diet.

I was researching this just today. My GSD had teca surgery 1 1/2 years ago and is now showing vestibular disease. He is at the vet as I type this. I am so scared the cancer has returned. I am concerned about the garlic (i have a German Shepherd and read that they should never have garlic) and corn - I do not believe dogs have corn - my GSD also has gastro issues, so corn is off the list.

Corn? I would leave it out...Starchy, Glycemic & most likely GMO. How about adding Coconut Oil?

I started my Miko on the ketovore diet yesterday. I got her a good quality kibble. The call of the Wild. Grain free. Im giving her raw chicken thigh, beef liver, chicken gizzard, sardines, salmon, a small slice of bacon, stew meat, and bone broth. For a snack to replace the milk bones, im giving her a frozen chicken wing. She's also getting vitamin E, turmeric, green tea, and prilosec. She has MCT😢
