Rheinmetall and Elbit Systems have successfully conducted a live fire demonstration of an automated 155mm L52 wheeled self-propelled howitzer. The demonstration of the new system took place in early March 2023 at the Shivta firing range in southern Israel. It was attended by high-ranking officials of the armed forces of the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands and Hungary.
Rheinmetall and Elbit Systems signed a cooperation agreement last year to develop, manufacture and market an automated European 155mm wheeled self-propelled howitzer system.

The cooperation between Rheinmetall and Elbit builds on the fully automated wheeled self-propelled howitzer procurement programmes that Elbit has signed with Israel and additional customers. As a result, a technically mature system is already available, enabling the integration of a Rheinmetall gun into the unmanned, fully robotic artillery turret of the Elbit system. The integration is currently in an advanced phase of the verification process. This will help reduce development risks and enable faster realization of operational readiness.

From an ordinance/logistics perspective this solution does have some maintenance advantages over tracked self propelled artillery, but it may still be theater specific due to geography & climate.

Styker cousins do better than traditional 2 & 3 axel configurations in mud/swamp conditions, but tracked could still be an outright winner head to head in that example.

Good to see this platform philosophy being revisited as it does deserve a place in missions needing something b/t sling loaded howitzers & tracked self propelled artillery.

Can you showcase SIGMA Self-Propelled Howitzer Gun Systems

Platform looks solid not doing much stress at vehicle

I prefer the RCH-155 wheeled howitzer.

Damn ...it was cool and it would be perfect competitor for serbian made Aleksandar automated howitzer (so called 155mm RCWS).

Showing the rate of fire would be useful. Typically an artillery piece’s rate of fire is not determined by how fast you can load it but more by the amount of heat the barrel can absorb. My guess is this video showed the initial max rate of fire and not the sustained rate of fire which is normally much lower due to barrel heating.

whenever I saw a 5-axis truck, my question is always does it really need more than 4 axes?

Nora-B was the first solution on a global scale (1984) in the so-called to the open mounting of the howitzer on a platform with wheels - TMG (Truck Mounted Gun). This marked a significant change in relation to the previously adopted concept of turret-mounted self-propelled weapons. So the idea was to put a regular cannon on a regular truck. Not on a special purpose vehicle and not a turret with a cannon but a howitzer. Later, Nora got the cabin and autoloader, the concept of today's look, which is exactly the same on this Israeli-German made howitzer. This is little known because Serbia (Yugoslavia) was under Sanction and the project was developed more slowly and could not be exported.

These wheeled self-propelled howitzers have hard times in Ukraine especially in winter which soil freezes and howitzers failed to stabilize themselves properly. What is your plan to solve this issue?

It is a bad solution.
the principle of having a self-propelled artillery system on wheels is the gain in wheight and manoeuvrability.
the French Caesar 6x6 weights 17t.
Your system weight 47 tons, only 8t less than the pzh 2000.
Also it will be complicated and costly to maintain in operational condition.
Basically this thing has the disavantages of both systems mentioned aboves without any benefit.
And that's without even mentioning the projection by air.

Edit:
Of course, because of the Israeli side, it would be impossible to send them to Ukraine.
