Platy genetics has been studied for over a century. Some of the ornamental varieties we see today were created in the decades of the 30s and 40s of the last century. Today there is not so much innovation in the development of new varieties and phenotypes of Platys, but there are still many shapes and colors to discover and develop. Wow, how informational! Iโ€™ve bred bettas for like 20 years. Right now I have a tankful of platys for the first time. Was supposed to be for funโ€ฆ and here I am learning about their genetics.
