Can 3 carseats fit in a Subaru Outback?

Yes, yes they can.

Here's a look at how and why we decided to keep our Outback after we had our 3rd baby, and how well it works for our family. Keep in mind that I have installed 3 pretty large seats. So there is a good chance that yours will all fit too!

We are planning for baby #2 and I was actually already looking at the Subaru Ascent for more space, but now I think we can just keep using our Outback as our main family car after seeing this video!

You just... Oh, man. The load you just took off my shoulders in seeing that you were able to pull this off - I can't even tell you. We are expecting a very unexpected/unplanned (but already very prayed over and loved) baby #3 and have been dreading having to upgrade from our beloved Subaru to a larger vehicle unless absolutely necessary. I am so relieved to see that we can still drive a fuel-efficient but still spacious vehicle that doesn't have to come with the compromised space and awful fuel economy of a mid- or full-size SUV.

All that to say *thank you* for taking time to put this video together. I will be showing my wife first thing tomorrow morning. :)

this should just be a standard spec when doing research on cars. no "it has 42 linear feet of" who cares, does it fit three car seats?

Thanks for this. We have our third baby on the way, and were hoping we'd be able to fit them all in the outback. Did not feel like trying to buy another car. Looks tight, but should be good enough for a couple of years until we're ready to buy a larger vehicle.

Hi very informative video, thanks. We have a third one coming soon, we fell in love with a used outback 2018 that we saw. But we have a doubt, the outback model we saw only has two tether anchors in the second row, the center seat does not have a tether anchor, so we discard that vehicle thinking we need 3 tether anchors for 3 car seats, but looking at you video, it looks like for the center seat you use a tether anchor in the roof of the vehicle, close to the back door, maybe I am wrong, if you can confirm this please I would appreciate it, not sure if that is an option, in that case we would be able to buy that one with two anchors on the back on the seats and use what it looks like an anchor on the roof, but not sure if even thats an option.

Do you know the models of car seats you’re using? I see one is a chicco my fit in the middle. baby’s seat a britax one4life possibly and I can’t tell on the other outboard seat. Looks like a britax of some sort? If those will fit your car I assume any seat configuration would work considering the seats you have are on the larger size
