I had the honor of doing sound for Taj three times, and I've always been a fan of Ry Cooder since his first solo releases and his contributions to the Performance soundtrack. I also owe him a big "thank you" for his efforts in bringing Buena Vista Social Club to the rest of the world. These are world class people with few peers.

This is great. Taj and Ry have been on it since their "Rising Sons' days in the '60s, which have only lately been re-released. Don Was standing in on the upright is a plus, and Joachim Cooder is a monster on percussion - dad must be proud. Gotta love this.

I first saw Taj in 1967. Bill Graham was renting warehouses and putting on concerts. There were hay bales on the floor on which one could sit. Once the music started, everyone was dancing and goovin'. I've been a fan ever since. It doesn't get much better.
