Huffy Nel Lusso Cruiser Single-Speed bicycle - $119 at Walmart

Показать описание
The Nel Lusso is a cruiser bicycle available at Walmart for $119. It's heavy, has very few parts that aren't steel, and has a single speed. The bicycle features a coaster brake and a dual spring wide saddle for comfort and ease of use.

This bike looks and functions like an old bicycle from years ago. If you're nostalgic to relive times when bikes were simple and didn't have all the gears and components of today's modern bikes - this may be the bicycle for you!

That's my issue with big box bikes. Most of the bikes you find on department store shelves are loaded with features and component like a full suspension, a front suspension fork, 3 gears up front and 6-8 in the rear. They sell many of these bikes for under $99. If a company is adding features but not increasing the cost...they're making the difference up in other areas. Areas like component quality. This can be potentially dangerous. If someone buys what looks like a full suspension mountain bike and tries to mimic what their buddy on a high end bike that looks oddly similar does - they will likely end up with a broken bike and possibly worse.

The Nel Lusso is simple goodness. I did have a problem with the brake, but i'll have that looked at. If it requires repair I can swap it out for another. My long term goal is to see if a basic barebones single speed bike of today can hold up like the bikes from childhood that were ridden hard and never pampered.

note: this is a corrected video. In a previous video I incorrectly stated this bicycle as a fixie bike. This is not a fixed gear bicycle. It is a single-speed bicycle.

Stay tuned! More great bicycle videos to come!

Had one of these with a seat for my then 3 year old. Took it everywhere and loved it. Stolen in Portland! Four years later we still think about that beautiful bike.

What I like most about KevCentral is that he is not a bike snob. He can give credit where credit is due. Plus he can appreciate a bike that doesn't come from a true bike shop. I would hate to see what something comparable would cost at a bike shop. Curious to see how things play out long-term. I'm guessing it should be just fine.

I don't know why everyone has such a hatred for these bikes. Not everybody wants or needs a $5, 000 tri bike, and not everyone knows enough to buy a used bike.

Picked one of these bad boys up for free from a friend when he moved to Massachusetts. Fishing bike works so smooth

I have had this bike for a few years now and wanted to weigh in on the comment section in case anyone is still watching. After some initial tweaking (due to some parts being assembled upside down and backwards) it has been very reliable and fun. I haven’t used it a lot mostly due to the fact that it tips the scales at 50lbs, and I’m no flyweight either. But I have ridden around the neighborhood to pick up my car at the shop, etc. I have used the (tiny) basket more than I expected. No complaints, especially since I paid $75 on clearance.

I've had mine for several years now. I've motorized it, electrified it, tore it down a few times, built it back up... It's seen more than a few rattle can paint jobs. The wheels weren't built for what I did to it but over all it's a pretty good bike. See them everywhere here.

I have this bike and I love it. Have rode it a decent amount, longest being 14 miles in a single go and it has held up great.

I just bought one ( charcoal color with tan rubber wheels ) I ordered it unassembled because it’s going to be shipped overseas to the Marshall Islands 🇲🇭 where bicycles are the primary means of transportation, or you can walk if you desire. The atolls there are flat and little inclination if any at all, and having a simple bike with coaster brake is highly recommended, due to the fact that excessive salt air is known to wreak havoc on multiple speed bicycle mechanisms ( and brake cables etc...) and the longevity of your bike won’t last as long as this solid and simple cruiser design.
I will have peace of mind knowing that I assembled it myself, and I’m sure it will get me back into shape lol 😂 low maintenance and well built bike, I love it, and it’s timeless fashion.
Nice video ! Thanks for sharing 👍

I bought one of these back in 2017, it handles abuse pretty well, i took mine up to 37mph on a downhill, jumped it off curbs, and a bunch of other stuff. I think i put well over 500 miles on that bike from 2017-2018. It died on me in 2018 when one of the rear dropouts bent. Quite a good bike for the price, not to mention you get lots of compliments from people.

Nice bike that's really meant for the beach crowd. Those bikes are in force all along the east coast beach areas and its worth it for that price. You have to tighten a nut to get the bike to lock up and its a easy fix. Good review because there are a whole lot of beach goers that buy these bikes and the real nice ones are gone by summer. The cup holder and cell phone slot would have that bike sold out quickly near any beach.

i have that $80 cruiser and im pretty heavy and it seems like it hasn't even broken a sweat while my other MTN bike from walmert has broken pedals, bent crank, loose brakes that suck, suspension that doesnt work, and tires that wont stay pumped up

Rode one of these things in Huntington Beach while renting a house. I wouldn't trust it to do much more than the beach but it was tough. My buddies was doing wheelies and jumps (and just plain more than he should have been).

I really like the 7 speeds on my 26” cruiser bicycle. When I come to a hill I just put it in first gear and makes it easy to climb small hills.

I was just given one of these by a neighbor. Mine isn't quite as nice as this one, as it had already had a fair amount of use. But, I've always wanted a cruiser & just didn't want to spend the money. My regular is a Giant Via. I'm thinking about restoring it. Stripping the frame of all its components should be a breeze. I plan to just mask the OE decals. But now... you're a Mirage owner! So awesome to see. I love mine. Great review!
