Mitochondrial haplogroup C1 is one of the maternal lineages that was carried by early migrants who crossed from Siberia into the Americas. Haplogroup C1 is found in indigenous populations across the Americas and provides key genetic evidence of these ancient migrations. Haplogroups H2, L1, and N9a are not typically linked to the earliest migrations to the Americas.

Problem:

Which haplogroup is thought to be associated with the first migration of humans to the Americas via the Bering Land Bridge?

A) C1 *
B) H2
C) L1
D) N9a

While mitochondrial haplogroup A is one of the primary haplogroups found among Native Americans and is associated with early migrations to the Americas, haplogroup C1 is specifically thought to be linked to the first migration across the Bering Land Bridge. Both haplogroups A and C1 are part of the initial wave of maternal lineages that arrived in the Americas, but C1 is more closely tied to the earliest migration patterns. Haplogroup A also plays a significant role, but it is not exclusively considered the haplogroup associated with the very first migration.

I keep telling people this. The so-called native Americans came from Siberia they are Siberian not Indian. People forget the land mass was one at one time. So there were people in America before they came. Thanks for this video good work.
