Just sleep 60 min a day and do calculus the rest of the time.

I can attest to this but as someone who is learning on his own I can tell you that studying is harder than it seems. Trying to maintain focus and getting over hurdles take up a lot of that time when you’re trying to study. I’m teaching myself physics and trying to develop that amount of focus in the “flow” but each time I come up to a block of difficult information to process or unfamiliar equations I’m repelled by the idea of continuing. It can also take my brain a few days to process a few pages of information and I’m not able to put a full hour into focusing on it.

At 40 hours a day, I expect to be a fine violinist. For Calculus, at 60 minutes daily, I fear not living long enough...

Correct. This is the best advice ever. Also ... FOLLOW this advice BEFORE you go to university. You must LEARN this stuff on your own PRIOR to ever setting foot in a classroom ... and you will ACE that class !! That is how it is done. Do not expect to learn this material at the same pace under pressure of running around on a campus. It is not possible. That is a recipe for failure - and the main reason why most people fail this class. Study it independently, on your own ... LEARN some things, then when you show up you will seriously ACE this class.

the problem with math books is that there are few worked examples and too many excersies, or is it just me cause i am unorthodox

What is your opinion on the Schaum's outlines of calculus?

Man you’re the math guru for everyone grinding towards mathematical nirvana! Nice books. I got an old 1960 edition of ‘Calculus and Analytic Geometry’ by Thomas. That book is stunning to me, also.. many of his examples blew me away (but then again I’m always getting blown away by the math! 😅) . 60 min a day is a good commitment, especially for those who have acquired tons of books waiting to be fully consumed. Nice one! 👍🏽

I think it's really ironic how the applied calculus textbook contains no trig yet the structure on the front cover art strongly resembles sin and cos

I just love that image of a dog rolling around smelling the grass and us rolling around inhaling calculus. It’s just perfect. Since my dog always follows me wherever I go, maybe he’ll inhale some calculus too. 😅

Well, I had this crazy idea! I wanted to see if I could teach myself Calculus. Then I ran into my first big problem... It's built on algerbra and trigonometry. So I had to back up and build a foundation which also includes the mastery of elementry mathematics.

Yes, Thomas and Finney and Larson and Edwards are very good books to start and consult, i used them during my three calculus courses. Finally, Spivak's is, with some more texts, the book!, fortunately i bought it some years ago in spanish. Greetings from Mexico.

a shorten the list for engineers .... the thickest algebra and trig book you can find (must include linear algebra hence thick) and stewart's calculus and kreyszig's book on differential equations ... learn everything thing in these books cover to cover, you'll be pro in a very practical sense

I've heard that _Div, Grad, Curl, and All That_ by H. M. Schey is a good book on calculus 3 / vector calculus material

I have just signed up for your algebra course on Udemy, will be starting this week. I didn't know you had these videos until recently. I will be working through the Algebra then all the calculus videos you have. I will look into the books after that. But will you be releasing a video series for trig? Would be great if you did.
Thanks
