AAA gaming has been one of the most inflation-resistant industries out there. The fact that new games are *just now* catching up with inflation shouldn't surprise anyone.

One amazing (also free, no dlc, ads, or any garbage like that) indie game i'd recommend to anyone who likes rhythm games or mystery/scifi stories is vivid/stasis, it is actually my fav game of all time

I don't understand why people are surprised. Games cost 60 when i was a kid 20 years ago. With inflation, they should cost around 100 now. Digital distribution and more efficent production lowered costs a lot which is why they have maintianed $60 price, but that only goes so far. These are businesses after all and they have to make a profit. No profit means they cannot fund more games.

Quite enjoying a number of indie titles.

Have enjoyed BG3, and now diving into Clair Obscur.

My other faves are Vampire Survivors, Death Must Die, Hades series, and the Ender series (Lilies and Magnolia). XD

Indie games deserve some more love, and I can agree with that. But big corporations need to pay more employees thus need more money to function. Cash grabs usually are used for paying for the development of other games, paying their workers (poorly at times), and (mostly) lining their (usually big shot) investors' pockets to keep them happy which pulls in more investors for the corporation through their investors' recommendation.
