Hyponatremia - Medicine MCQs multiple choice questions - Medical School Revision - Dr Gill

One of the problematic parts of medical MCQs is the lack of detail in the answers - often medical revision resources will identify WHY you got the answer wrong but don't provide the additional information to enhance your existing knowledge on why you got an answer correct

This is a pilot for a possible medical school revision series - trying to have interactive MCQs with the addition of detailed discussion about the answers.

Multiple choice questions are a huge testing and revision resource in med school. Hopefully, this will be of use the medical students who are looking for additional revision tools.

In this first video, we present a case dealing with hyponatremia. In these MQC questions, we'll look at the causes of hyponatremia, the investigations of low sodium levels, and how we treat hyponatraemia

Yes! More please! I got the first two right, and almost got the third (the pregnancy test on Derrick tripped me up). I don’t have any experience or study in the medical field, but I’m deeply curious about how living things “work”.

You uploaded this just in time for electrolytes to be on my next exam, thank you as always for the good practice and knowledge, doctor!

I never feel so nervous thinking about the questions here, maybe cause they’re not graded in the grade book? But the practice is seriously helpful and I feel way more confident with the topics afterwards!

I really like this format, I can't wait for the next topic this is done on! But I also love the videos not like this, so I mean that like I can't wait for another one to be mixed into the other usual ones.

As a vocalist, I can tell you that diluted room temp pineapple juice will sooth the throat if you have to do a lot of talking (or in my case, singing) while having most any kind of throat infection. I've had more than my fair share of pharyngitis episodes.

Of course I would browse to this one after guzzling a lot of water because I was l headachey and dehydrated :) Now I'll be paranoid I've gone overboard...

hey there dr. gill, i got the first one, but not the other two. (not a med student though) can i ask why pregnancy test wasnt the least useful test for the third question? you phrased the question in a way that made me think we were still talking about the example patient. a 55 y/o male. while men whos thyroid is out of order can have wild hormones, and in theory you can get some interesting results from having a man take a pregnancy test, i wouldnt think it would be the of any real use, for the example given. or did i just misunderstand the question?

tonight at the Bengals bills nfl game a player collapsed on the field. you should watch it and make a video about it. I think it could have been "commotio cordis" but we can only guess. it was scary to watch. I am a usmc vet, so I have seen a lot. a lot of bad.
