Bowser throwing his minions into the portal before he himself goes in is peak characterization for the guy. Sure, he's the evil king and they're his minions, but they're HIS MINIONS goddamnit! The only one who gets to keep them away from him is King Koopa himself!

I love how Bowser's attacks are literally taken from Inside Story, seeing him do that punch animation brought back some memories.

I actually love how Bowser only really appears when you’re at a stronger level. Having him as the tutorial boss in earlier games made him look like a pushover.

You konw... I actually noticed something interresting: this is the first Mario and Luigi game ever to NOT have a Wiggler boss fight.

Just a note- when you face Glohmified Bowser, if Luigi uses his Leap of Logic when Bowser is not dizzy, Bowser will destroy the airship before it gets very far and Snoutlet will make a comment about it.

You know you made a good story when with only the context included in this game, the ending makes me cry. Now thats something no other game managed!

Fun fact: Clockout Blow IS NOT random. The first bro to attack determines ALL future attacks. If Mario attacks first the order is A, B, A, A, B, B, A, A, B, B, B, B, and finally X. If Luigi attacks first, the order is B, A, B, B, B, A, A, B, A, A, A, A, and finally X. (Note: The first letter includes Mario and Luigi’s first attack that determines what set-up it is) (Extra Note: Getting Luigi first is better because the ratio of hits from Mario and Luigi is 7:5 but if Mario hits first, the ratio is 5:7. And since Mario’s damage is always around 10-40 more on each hit than Luigi, getting Luigi first is more useful. The difference between Mario going first, and Luigi going first in the endgame is around 200-300 damage!)

I do like how this game has a legit "mid boss" theme and a "main boss" theme. Though, I wished that Zokket had his own theme considering he was the main antagonistic force of this game before Reclusa's revival.

I’m glad Luigi is using his brain to do bright things. Anyway, about that guy called Reclusa, he fights like the final bosses from the first two Mario & Luigi games. He’s like a computer virus. He kind of reminds me of Lord Betrayus from Pac-Man and Chaos Efilis from Kirby and the Forgotten Land in 2022.

This game's bosses are fantastic. The quantity is a little smaller than what we're used to for M&L, but the ones that are here are great so I really can't complain. Glohm Bowser in particular blew my mind, and the final boss was really fun too. And the glohmed versions of the great lighthouse bosses were really good optional challenges too. All around a solid selection!

I Dig the dynamic combat animation style. Glad to see that devs aren't afraid of making changes. The boss numbers tho... I think they didn't tried their fullest or got held back for some reason. Like higher ups being unsure of more M&L RPG titles and playing safe? Still glad to see brotherly actions!

Because Beardbear was so quick to dispose of Reclusa’s 3rd phase, there’s a really annoying attack that he thankfully missed, and that is M&L’s version of Stone or Petrify. One of the brothers is zapped and for 1-2 that bro is unable to move and the other bro has to carry them while dodging other annoying attacks like Burn or Ice, or just being blasted with glohm energy.
