i love this game, the battles are just so flashy and fun, i especially love how stronger bros moves have harder controls. Luigi logic in boss fights really makes them stand out and feel fresh. I really hope they continue this series

“Why you would choose any others, I don’t really know”

Personally, when I was younger I would always go for EXP boost upgrades right away in games that offered them, like Fallout 3. As I got older I realized that you can never run out of enemies to fight, so it made more sense to go for straight up upgrades to damage or whatever else.

I personally went for the gear slots, cuz historically, gear items in these games can be insanely powerful.

Omg, totally agree with your comments about using B to trigger Luigi's moves. I'm only a few hours into the game and having to press A first in the menu, then swap to B for Luigi's actual attack is messing with my head. I also wish you could speed up combat. But apart from that, it's pretty cute so far.

I beat the game today and I’d say this is tied between inside story as my favorite in the series. Took me 48 hours to beat at level 48 and I really had a lovely time. Performance issues didn’t really hinder the game too much personally. The battle system was the best in the series and I really enjoyed the concept of connection. It’s a 9.3/10 for me. It’d be a perfect 10 if it cut a little bit of content but thats more than good enough for me. Great review switch up!

Thanks so much for changing my mind on this one, really enjoying the first few hours. I would have let this one slide after readIGN a couple of negative reviews.
Performance in handheld is really good and it’s one of those games that is very playable away from the big screen. So much for the backlog!!!

I love this game so far, it’s a solid Mario & Luigi game, it’s just the refresh it needed on Switch, yeah the micro stutters are a bit annoying but it doesn’t harm the experience. That Switch 2 can’t come fast enough.

Thanks for the review! It's funny, I totally understand why some people might not like this style, and shoot, some people DO play like reviewers, in that they want a tight and packaged experience in their Mario games. However, it does look like the *specific* criticisms in some of the major reviews seem a bit exaggerated and overblown. Looks like fun!
