BBC News Theme (Extended Full Mix) (Early 2023 Version)

A 10-minute extended version of the BBC News Theme, which includes the countdown, opens, closes, and idents, using as much audio as possible that can be found on BBC News/BBC World News.

This is an updated version of the 2022 one I made which includes more tracks. The full list is below. I had this shelved for a while because I wanted to make a special video for it, but I don't really have much time to do that. BBC News is also expected to undergo further rebranding, which may include the audio identity / sonic branding, which is partly why I shelved it. However, I was a bit unhappy with the first one and I felt that this was a lot better in terms of the mix and quality of sources, and that's the main reason I put this out now.

The composer of the BBC News theme is David Lowe and the orchestral part of the theme is performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra.

For 22 years I worked at the BBC in Glasgow as an Announcer-Director (we spoke and did all the vision and sound mixing for playout. Just one person at a time!). Often I had to get into the News Channel very late at night and whenever I possibly could I would pad with trails so that I was able to run the 'Theme' for 2 minutes and then opt smoothly into the top of the hour live. I often looked forward to that bit all night!!!

Orchestra version does help a lot, with that grand and amazing entry of the tune. This mix is more to make it even dramatic, looks cinematic, more tense from the initial version of the BBC theme.

If you didn't notice, all of these version are played at 120bpm, so every second is 2 beats.
