Показать описание
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class, or G-Wagon has been in production since 1979 and the basic mechanics remain unchanged. With three locking differentials, this body-on-frame truck is capable of climbing almost anything. It's known as a status symbol but at its core, it still loves the mud.
Competitors to the Mercedes G-Class are the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport,Land Rover Defender, Land Rover LR4, Land Rover Discovery, Jeep Rubicon, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Porsche Cayenne, VW Touareg, Toyota FJ Cruiser, Ford Raptor, Toyota Tacoma TRDpro, Nissan Xterra, Toyota Land Cruiser, Lexus LX470

Finally, the right location for the G-class test! Forest, rain, coldy... Perfectly! Good job! I tired of lokking the tests G-class in stupid deserts.

And this year Mercedes made absolute record, sold 20 000 vehicles.
It looks like G will live forever. Which means today prices will be nothing compared to the one tomorrow :)

I really love the idea of one of these, I've owned jeeps and blazers, and trucks . This looks like a good of road vehicle that's practical for a man with kids

You can diff lock most 4x4's, so a Suzuki vitara front and rear diff locked with decent tyres could do that incline I would imagine.
I do like the g wagon myself, definitely on the lotto win shopping list.

The G Class combines elements of Mercedes Benz cars throughout the decades. The body is solid like a W123. The interior is light and airy like an R129. The gadgets are straight out of the latest Benz models with the fancy screens and buttons. Spec it with the 5.5 L V8 and you got a symphony to match. For those in the comments section complaining about the price tag and comparing it to other cars, please read this comment to educate yourselves.

Cars were narrower and wheel width also closer than what is now. So, roads out there are still narrow due to those roads were trotted by these earlier day vehicles, and that gives them additional advantage besides being light and manageable.

How capable a vehicle is, ultimately comes down to how skilled the driver behind the wheel is. The only G wagons you will see out on the trails are 20-10 year old ones. By all means great truck all around. I'll say the closest competitor to this truck would be the 76 series Land Cruiser but we don't get it in North America, Australians love it.

Yes, I would love to own one if I win a lotto.
Love the square edges.

Very funky looking.... kind of has that look of the Toyota Land Cruiser of the late 70's/early '80's I believe.

If you wanted to off-road, you wouldn't do it to a $100, 000 luxury car. But you still know that it could, and that's what this car is selling. Call it image, call it a poseur's car, but that's the reality of something so expensive.

Want to off-road for real, buy a Wrangler and save the G-wagen for the ski resort.
