What is behind Dimitri's eyepatch? An eyehole? An eye? Probably one of those two, but where he got his eyepatch is a complete mystery. Until today. Because I am putting on my detective's hat and solving one of Fire Emblem Three Houses biggest mysteries: where did Dimitri Blaiddyd of Blue Lions fame get his iconic eyepatch? I'd say it was just one of many injuries he sustained over the five years and likely a result of his reckless and bloodthirsty fighting style. Alone, betrayed, thinking Edelgard is responsible for everything, his fighting would almost be literally feral for survival sake. Also worth noting in Crimson Flower, he has Rhea as an ally, so there's someone to help with leadership, whereas he's alone elsewise.

My guess is that he lost it during his torture/imprisonment which Dedue saved him from.

I always assumed Cornielia just pried it out and then thought it was supported by the Three Hopes dialogue, Guess i missed the dialogue when Dimitri said that he still had it.

over a handful of people claimed to me that Cornelia caused his eyepatch, as if it was an obvious fact, but guess I should have asked them all where they got the source from.

In the end I like how his epic eyepatch reflects the dark stage of his character arc :)

Either Dimitri is using an eyepatch because he lost an eye or for the same reasons pirates used them so they can better see in the dark which would be important as he was being hunted and needs to sleep with 1 eye open

One possibility is that when he was arrested for allegedly killing his uncle, he could’ve tried to resist arrest and gotten wounded in the process.

hmm i can only assume that the injury might not be from a direct hit by a weapon, a punch on the other hand can injure an eye to a point where it functions but is under a handicap
