..the end at the transmission side, is a real PITA.. I tried for 6+ hours, and I still can't figure out how to repair the Bushing on a 2004 Buick Rendezvous.
I'm guessing you have to remove the transmission gear shit linkage cable to do the end at the Transmission. You have to remove the flex collar to the entrance of the Throttle body, air cleaner cover, and the coolant reservoir to get to this cavity. You loosen the 2 bolts to the bracket that holds the shift cable to the transmission housing, this allows you greater access to the cable end.

Don't bother getting those plastic bushings from a salvage yard, they're all toast at a salvage yard. I'm guess parts like this, is what causes people to abandon their vehicles and send them to the scrap heap.
