Grandma Easy GINGER SNAP Recipe

Getting in trouble with my #Grandma for dropping the one and only egg we had left got me this recipe. Personally, I prefer it slightly firmer and crunchier, but in any case, I believe this #gingerbreadcookie or #gingersnap recipe is the best. Enjoy this free recipe. Ginger Snap For The Win.

1/3 cup molasses
2 1/4 cups of flour
1 1/2 stick butter (room temp)
1 egg
1 cup sugar
1 to 2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground cinnamon

Mix sugar and butter, beat until creamy. Add molasses, egg, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and ginger; beat until well mixed. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Shape into 1-inch balls, roll in sugar, place on cookie sheets. Bake at 350° 10-15 minutes until golden brown, let rest 5 to 10 min and the rest is history. Yum! I was surprised the recipe called for white sugar. It's almost cold enough to whip out the 1940 Searchlight Magazine cookbook my mother in law gave me and make a 9x9ish pan of gingerbread with whipped cream. That and another old one are the best cookbooks.

One of my favorites. Surprisingly I don't remember my GM making ginger snaps but, maybe, once. She made the best homemade cake with caramel icing though. That was my favorite and she always made it for my birthday. I share the same birthday with a cousin and she would make a box cake with chocolate icing for our combined birthdays but I always knew that I would get a separate cake for my actual birthday ❤🎂❤
