Ha! I voted for this lady at the federal election last year. She didn't get in but has been doing a sterling job of raising awareness about halal. Cadbury chocolate, for example, who brought us halal Easter eggs, are always on special at my local supermarket. Every Australian has the power to say '''Halal's against MY religion and I will not buy it.''

I live in England where all meat apart from pig tends to be Halal, yet its against my religion to eat meat sacrificed to idols. I miss being able to eat meat.
Also I'm not a vegetarian by choice, But I used to be proud of the fact that a bolt gun to the head was the quickest and least painful way of killing cattle. The fear on an animals face when it's throat is slit and it's left to die it's obviously trauma inducing and must flood the meat with chemicals like adrenaline. I can't seem to find an angle that supports Halal eating for non Muslims at all.
I'm defo going to give this documentary a watch.

So now I have to pay for kosher and halal? I have kosher aluminum foil wrap, kosher popcorn, kosher breakfast cereal, etc. It is on virtually every pre-packaged product in your grocery stores. Check out the labels for yourself. Now Islam want to enter into this very lucrative game? I am neither Jewish nor Muslim. Why the heck do I have to pay for this insanity? Jesus Christ paid the price on my behalf already, and the debt has been paid in full. At least kosher certified products are labelled. Unfortunately, it is on a lot, and I mean a lot of common products.
