There's a decent amount of iconography about family trees in elden ring, as well as people being absorbed by the end tree to be reborn. There's also a line about Melina talking about boc, "does being born of a mother, mean someone behaves in such a manner." I believe this imagery and dialogue is meant to show that there is a literal family tree where people are literally grown and born on the erd tree, not by through a mother. I didn't make this theory, but I'm pretty sure when it says that she's one of Malenia's daughters it's through such a method, Gowry refers to her as a bud, like she actually came to being and budded through Malenia's scarlet aeonia.

With the Sacramental Bud description reading “An immature bud containing fresh blood, ” I like to imagine that Malenia’s Scarlet Aeonia actually dispersed buds across the Swamp of Aeonia, with some of them growing into sproutlings of Malenia—Millicent and her four sisters. That’s why Gowry talks about her being so special, she is the direct progeny of Malenia as though she is a growing spore from the original fungus

Loved this character and her questline 😢 The way I understood it, they aren't really daughters in the true sense but rather offshots that were created when Malenia used her power. Millicent in particular represents Malenia's lost pride (because she only used the scarlet rot so she wouldn't lose to Radhan). That's why Millicent always spoke that she needed to return something to Malenia. In the end, she lets the scarlet rot take her rather than risk "blooming" like Malenia, so her death was truly her own decision 😢

Coolest Npc in the game. One of the best questlines too. There's just this natural flow to the quest (with the exception of the un-needed tree spirit blocking her invade/co-op sign).

Millicent can be summoned in a lot of fights. She doesnt do much damage and constantly gets stunlocked, but its a lil nice bonding experience.

I just finished her questline after my first ever N+ and this time I helped her instead of betraying her. I've got to say that it is very sad to see her body rotting away rather than seeing a beautiful red flower.
