Last December, I had those numbers as goals for 2023. They're totally doable. The real blessing tho, is that my technique is so much better now. That's the true beauty of goals, you literally become a different person in order to get them. It's doable... And as soon as we get there, we'll want a 500 pull, 405 squat, 315 bench and 225 press... Humans 😂

Age 59 - 200lb
Squat 365
DL 365
OHP 165
Bench 200

This was a few years ago. Ate like crap. Inadequate protein intake. No supplements. Have a lot more room for growth.

His numbers are totally attainable if you do the program and don’t wander off doing a bunch of other exercises. Should take about 90 minutes doing the 4 lifts.

All of these numbers (except the press) were from my 2 years of training on my own pre-Starting Strength been working with an SS coach online since the end of April excited to see where I get

Those are totally reasonable numbers. I’m about a year in for consistent training and I’ve hit all those numbers except 185 OHP. I think the key for me was starting out with the Starting Strength NLP. I think it’s a must for a novice. I’m 49yo 5’9” and about 210. I think a younger dedicated dude should be able to make short work of those goals.

34 years old just started lifting for the first time in my life and I hope by the end of the year I’m halfway to these numbers atleast I literally started with an empty bar (recovering opiate addict sober since Nov 11 2020 🙏🏽) and I’m in love with the barbell, first time doing the major compound lifts and every week I’m adding 5 lbs and the weight keeps on moving easy I’m so excited to see where I’ll be in a year!! You fellas motivate me in these comments to keep grinding!!!

Are we talking about PR1 max? Or 5 reps?

What about body weight? Are these numbers reasonable for a 50 year old male, 5'6" 160# with a spondy?

Age 67. Body wt 260. At bench 1 year. At deadlift 6 months. Have not done much OHP, very few times. Squats just hurt my shoulders, so nothing so far.
Bench: 215, 1 rep
Deadlift: 285, 1 rep
OHP: 95, 5 reps

I've been training for at 2 years or so seriously and honestly i'm not close to any of these. I'm around 160 bw and last deadlift workout I did 255 x 3 for 3 sets. Squats I can do around 245 x 8 if I grind it out. My bench is worse probably around 185 for a few reps. 21 yrs old

This should be scaled to the size of the athlete. It's a weight class sport, after all.

I’m closest on squat 285. I deadlift the same weight so that’s where I need the most growth. 180 bench 115 press
