SKODA FABIA Wiper Linkage Mechanism, Scuttle panel (Mk1 99-07)

In this video I show you how I removed/refit the windscreen wiper linkage mechanism/motor and scuttle panel on a Skoda Fabia MK1 (99-07) which is similar to other VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda models

Torque settings
wiper nuts 13mm 20Nm
Linkage to body 10mm bolts 5Nm
Bracket ? Possibly 20Nm, but please check other VAG sources

Another super video. Finally got round to do it :) as I was afraid of rampant hidden corrosion ( but found none ) BUT had to remove the scuttle panel to properly access that bastard connector to motor as super difficult to remove as I am left handed. Tks for your efforts.

i did use a vacum cleaner to clear the leaves and a long plastic brush to lose all the debri.

Great instruction, I had to fix this in a newer model Fabia III combi 2016 today, but the point where the mechnism is connected to the rotating Motorblade was off, and it seems that it's just 'clicked on' there...I'm not very confident that it will stay on, but can't see how to tighten it since it doesn't have a hole or a bolt? Do you happen to know how this works in the newer model?

Great vid. I'm having the same problem someone else has mentioned. On my mk 3, after unbolting the linkage, I can get the unit out, there's no space. Can't find any directions for this e.g. technique, removing something else etc...

My driver side wipe came away from the linkage. Is it held in with a starlock washer? I couldn't see in the video.

My Fabia 1.2 Petrol 2005 wipers seem to have forgotten their park position. I believe the reason for this was somebody trying to clear a windscreen full of snow off some years ago and it's pulled the mechanism out of sync. They wipe fine but park themselves about 5 inches up from the proper park position.

Are you aware of this issue/what I will need to do to fix it? Does the wiper motor need taking apart or linkage adjusting?
