I subscribed just because these videos are so respectful of our time - no wasted filler in this video at all, and I appreciate that!

Excellent tip Jason. Sometimes we can get stuck in just one way of doing things. Thank you for what you do

The compress and makeup method really helped me fix my vocal track!
I was having mic issues where even moving a foot away would drop levels dramatically,
and this compensates for that annoying fall-off nicely. Thanks Jason!

Its almost like your in my head. Audio Audio Audio! What do I mean? Well, as I am learning more in DaVinci everyday. Audio has always been a pain in my butt. Most of the time my audio is ok. But sometimes, I watch my videos and I really can't stand hearing my own voice. This video is a big help. I already knew 1-3, but 4, 5 and 6, well lets just say, THANK YOU! Have a great day Jason Yadlovski. STAY AWESOME!

I had zero video editing skills a year ago when my wife started her YouTube channel. I had to learn because I'm the one that does the editing. My skills are still minimal, but getting better. This is exactly what I needed today. Your videos have been very helpful. Thank you!

Love Tip #6! Question ... Does DR boost the gain of audio by default on import? A lot of the licensed music that I bring in is way too hot by default on import. Many tracks are blocked at the ceiling.

Hi Jason, a quick question if I may: I'm editing a course which consists of many (100+ video lessons). The audio levels are pretty similar +/- 2db on each recording, but they're all a bit quiet. I want to boost the levels a bit before exporting the lessons. Normally, I'd just use the mixer, but each lesson has its own timeline. I want to avoid human error here in case I forget or make a mistake. I'm looking for the easiest way to maintain conistency across so many videos. I'm already using a track-level preset for processing. Is there any way to add a voume gain to something like that?

Any suggetsions would be super appreciated. Or if you've covered this in a video, I'd be grateful just for a link.

I'm trying to modify the audio of multiple clips in fairlight by dragging the clip level, but it only affects one of them. Is there a way to adjust them all at once in fairlight. In edit mode selecting multiple allows me to use the inspector to modify them all at once, but I can't see the waveforms as clearly in edit mode.

I'd love to see you go over Automation and your workflow for adjusting audio levels that way.

Audio was all raised to its highest, what I was looking for was gain. Found it in the multi band compressor, thank you!

Good tips; holding shift when dragging the volume line is a game changer! Thanks!
Hey, off topic a little here, but I've got a question: I'm curious if you've ever had issues with audio export quality in Resolve. I've been having the audio sounding really trashy on my final export, particularly when there's some consistent ambient noise (wind rustling, water flowing, mixer running; that kind of thing). I get hisses and sizzles and weird messed up audio sounds like that in the background :) I think I (sort of) found two work arounds:
1) if I change the bus format in Fairlight to 5.1, then in the render tab under audio that opens up a higher quality setting and I can bump up the audio to over 1000 kb/s (instead of the normal limit of 192) and it seems to help. I hardly know the first thing about Farilight though, so I'm not really sure what I'm doing by changing the bus format.
2) Checking "render one track per channel" in the audio tab on the render page. The problem with that is it seems to eliminate any stereo in the audio (i.e. we're only getting one of the channels or they're mashed into one)
Any ideas? :) I've only got the free version (though I'd kinda be surprised if that were the reason)
