One person is dead and three firefighters are hurt after a sidewalk collapsed during in Seminole County.
Seminole County Fire Chief Otto Drozd III says firefighters were dispatched around 10:40 a.m. for a sidewalk collapse on Chiswell Place in the Lake Mary area.
The collapse trapped one person, later identified as a Seminole County worker, according to the Orlando Sentinel. When firefighters arrived, Chief Drozd said a vacuum truck had been removing water from where the person was stuck but was shut off so firefighters could begin their rescue efforts.
As firefighters worked to get that person out with the jaws of life, everyone was shocked because the hole was electrically charged. The person who was trapped did not survive.
