If there's a number in the square adding to x, would you change the sign for that also? like if it was ({square root} x+4)-2 it would become ({square root} x-4) +2

How is the second simplified? It looks more complex to me

isn't -1 squared 1? -1x-1. two minuses equal positive

With that comment at the end, is that a simplification we're expected to do or not? Anyone know?
