I am stumped. Searched for this on Khan Academy for the last 20 minutes. Search on Youtube and there it is - from Khan Academy. Khan needs to update their search functions.

If there's a number in the square adding to x, would you change the sign for that also? like if it was ({square root} x+4)-2 it would become ({square root} x-4) +2

How is the second simplified? It looks more complex to me

isn't -1 squared 1? -1x-1. two minuses equal positive
