When the Ultimate Fighting Championship - UFC - held it's first event UFC 1, it was such a strange and fascinating concept. Mixing fighting styles was an entirely new concept, except for when it appeared in the Bruce Lee film, Enter The Dragon. However, seeing it in a true combat capacity simply seemed bigger than life.

In it's initial contests, the fighters were much more DIFFERENT MARTIAL ARTISTS, than they were MIXED MARTIAL ARTISTS, as each fighter had an individual specialty they brought into the Octagon.

Seeing Royce Gracie win the tournament was something that changed the world's perception of fighting. That still resonates to this day.
