I remembered seeing this short when me and my mother and my sister were decorating for Christmas, I spent a long time trying to find it again, The tailless cat always did creep me out with the way it’s eyes look and the way the mouth is animated. A well put together short I’m not gonna lie and the music fits the tone perfectly, but that black cat, the swirly eyes scenes, the fountain drowning, and the way the cat holds the knife towards his stubby tail always did creep me out.

Cant properly express just how well this whole thing works. The music is just so so so effective with the visuals. The story told and the tone and so captivating. Even the visuals along actually. So fucking good. Not just in like appearance but also tone and mood and it works so so well for being so simple yet the vague 3dish animation and the smoothness just takes it up another notch. The backgrounds and lighting elements are so devilishly simple. Just a few colored brush strokes on pitch black. Augh the sad piano and the evil accordion play together in this brutal tale. The music cannot be overstated. Some of the best of all of disney comparatively. Everything is so good and I genuinely cant get enough of this one in particular.

I was around 10 ish maybe? I understood it and loved every minute of the music and animation. Slightly disturbing? Yes, but that makes it so much better

I saw this Disney Short many years back! It is quite a "GEM" of a story.

Lorenzo definitivelly deserved that. Molly on the other hand seems to be someone who has suffered a lot and she had her reason to hate lorenzo, on the other hand tail is the best character.

This short was already completed by 2004, in fact it was suppose to be a segment for the proposed Fantasia 3 in 2006 yet it never came to be sadly. At least the short is great 😔😔😔💖
