The song takes me back to 2013 when battle of gods first came out with this song.

That flashback adds to the irony. The form that took down frieza and the move frieza tried using against Goku on namek. Is now being used to finish off jiren to save their universe.

I always loved the Goku/Frieza VS Jiren fight, not just because of the cool factor of seeing Goku and Frieza coming to an agreement like this, but also because of the fact that we see Jirens change. The first two seconds in, we see him SMILE. He's not just fighting to win the tournament anymore, he's fighting cuz "Fuck it, this is pretty damn fun."

I love the flashback like reminding the viewer "Goku and Frieza, two different people who's fates have intertwined, once fought each other for the fate of the universe, and now they fight together for the fate of all universes!"
