For the first question, part a... is the acceleration due to gravity taking care of by the engine? i.e. is the acceleration 30m/s AFTER the acceleration due to gravity is factored in?

I solved a whole quadratic problem for c just to realize there was an easier way.

The part I don’t understand is why the one initial velocity is equal is 60. I understand you explain but I still don’t get it
