There is one thing that I would like Highlight. If I mainly talk about OBD and PGM, then here we should have mentioned motorcycles, as the significant impact of these two applications will be on motorcycles as cars are already equipped with these and will only receive advanced versions of Specially PGM for better efficiency, but these technologies are now forced upon two-wheelers after new norms which will significantly increase their prices.

European style emission norms without European style roads, infrastructure and cars+high taxes is suicide for a country with 47% manufacturing GDP from automotive sector.

Government: "let's reduce co2 emission in cars"

Also Government: "mixes more ethanol while not reducing price"

Can't wait for it. I for one want to buy a wagon r for 30 lakshs ex showroom made out of cardboard and pay 200 rs for a litre of petrol to only get stuck in traffic and bad roads. It's my dream 🤩

The problem is even worse with bike market
Because in bs6 phase 1 the introduction of Catalytic converters increased the prizes of commuter bikes by 20-25%

Basically the government is implementing all the Western norms when it comes to safety and emissions, but is forgetting to implement the lesser tax norms.

And with the new Lithium mine found in India, and with discussions complete with the Argentinian government regarding mining their lithium mines, I believe India soon will be targeting to ditch the IC engines completely.

ngl, gadkari is way overrated.
he is pushing crap into automotive industries just make himself seem ‘ revolutionary’.
he knows that he isn’t going to be part of the ministry in 2024, so he is collecting all that he can in these years.

Restrictions are ok but government should first strengthen their public transport system so more people start using them which will result in less emissions. I've seen people driving suv to work/office just for the sake of getting acknowledged by the colleagues that he drives this and that.

Secondly cyclist passages should also be made wherever feasible by the government like the West so people could feel safe driving cycles on dedicated passages.

As a car enthusiast myself, I only have the bs4 Scorpio and BS4 Alto 800 with me now with the old tech. Great engines and power. Even the alto is a beast of an offroader.
Gonna keep it for longer.
The new BS6 Bolero which is also there dosent feel the same anymore .
