Commons sense and logic are in short supply these days, everyone wants to rock the latest and greatest no matter how buried in debt they have to get in order to impress. Been shopping around for a new vehicle and I'm quite disappointed with the current offering. Thanks again for another great edition, keep up your good work as more than ever in these times of smokes and mirror marketing we need your no nonsense approach to car review.

Bought a 2024 Versa in August. LOVE it so far. Manual transmission getting 42-43 MPG, mostly rural, non-highway driving. Love the manual transmission.

Great review as always Kevin! I remember a full year ago, watching your review on the 2024 Nissan Versa, where you called it the most important car on the market just like now, and I remember thinking then that I agree with you a 100 percent! I still agree with you! In this sea of huge expensive SUVs and trucks, it's so refreshing to find a small brand new car for under 20k!

Purchased it in June 2024 and have put 20K miles on it for my work commute yes the hard plastic and the slight get up speed is lacking but overall for what it is required to do it is an amazing vehicle and have no regrets. I purchased the SV trim and felt it was the perfect bang for the buck in gray pearl which is my favorite color behind the Scarlett red. I got it for 19, 900 OTD including taxes and everything fees related. With my heavy foot I'm averaging 35mpg combined. My weekender is a 2023 Camaro SS 1LE 6speed.

It is 100% true what you said about the older cars being expensive. I was looking at 90s camrys and they sold for like $20k which is what I paid for my Elantra but way less features.

2025 would be the last year of the Versa (unless 2026 is a redesign with the interior that’s similar to the new Kicks minus the Bose speakers in the seats).

Okay your narrative is spot on, I will buy one!

did Nissan fixed their transmission problems? I was told by a transmission shop to stay away even with warranty because it’s difficult to get parts.

do you recomenned a 2025 Nissan Versa SR Automatic version for consistent highway usage (70-85mph) daily? I'm only asking because I know it takes 10 seconds to go from 0-60mph and here in Florida people drive crazy and you may need fast acceleration? I really like this car all around cuase I can fully max it out for just 25k and get awesome MPG too....thanks in advance

Porsche 911 one day, Nissan Versa another day. That is what we call range.

Versa S still does not come with a remote for locks & have to add alarm for that. Still no Android Auto & CarPlay & worst of all its made in Mexico & the 100% tariffs will make it much more expensive.

Nissan definitely does NOT make a good CVT transmission. Ask anyone who bought a Rogue, Pathfinder, or QX60 from 2014-2018. They just paid out a settlement of $277 million dollars to resolve those class action lawsuits. As a result they extended their warranty coverage for all CVT transmissions but only AFTER being sued.

However would I still buy a Nissan right now? Absolutely! Their stock is tanking, they’re firing 9k workers, and cutting their CEOs pay in half. The dealerships have massive discounts on inventory sitting on their lot for months and months. Just remember to change your transmission fluid every 15k miles.

The thing this review refuses to acknowledge when it talks about the current "cheap" car offerings is that THEY ARE ALL GOING AWAY. Yes people are crying about inflated prices of vehicles these days but it's not simply because things have gotten inherently more expensive, it's because the "privileged" class out there, the greediest American consumerists who MUST have the latest and greatest standout vehicles just to keep up with the Joneses, has overtaken the car market, so manufacturers are stopping offering vehicles like this. As the review states, the Mitsubishi Mirage is gone for 2025, and the Versa is gone after 2025. The federal government needs to stop mandating this push to EVs and instead incentivize vehicles like this by SUBSIDIZING car manufacturers who are still willing to produce them.
