Toussaint Map was such a nice change of scenery. From murky North to sunny South. But what i really dont miss are those damn flowers on death march difficulty

At first when you roam around in Velen or White Orchard, you can easily guess that it is a war torn area and people there are suffering. You come to Toussaint and it's a completely different land. People are prospering and the map is colourful.

my first playthrough of blood and wine i gained all the virtues without knowing it. so when i visited the lady of the lake she fought me and immediately gave me the sword. my second playthrough i went to the lady of the lake first so i could get the sword early, and I was surprised to find out i had to search for five virtues. i realized that my first playthrough i demonstrated the virtues just by being me, without realizing there would be a reward. made me feel very good about myself. like i'm a good person. i like this game.

Had difficulties getting into the game and stopped playing after some hours. Year later decided to give it another go and here I am still playing daily. One of my favorite games of all time.

Toussaint is a real clean-up of everything that didn't feel right in vanilla. Better rewards, better loot, contracts felt like they actually paid you properly, great gear (grandmaster sets actually made witcher sets more than just a stat bonus), excellently designed quest structure that overlapped (contracts could lead you to grandmaster hunts, hidden treasures, and points of interest, and vice versa for each one), a map with less meaningless empty space, all that. The main story had it's flaws, it always does (except for in hearts of stone that shit slaps no matter what) but the smaller stories of the region felt much more balanced - often in the base game they would be grim in a ridiculous, unbelievable and desensitizing way (oh boy, another gaggle of corpses), but in Toussaint the bad flows alongside the good and thus feels all the more meaningful. Not to mention the way that nearly every quest has more effort put into the subtle parts of it - even quite minor quests get interesting camera angles and intro shots and don't feel phoned in.

Just like in HoS, CDPR made a compact, clean, quality experience with no extra or added weight that was put there just to be there - it's a crowning achievement of restraint, more than anything. They found something to go for, and went for it without bloating. It's a far cry from skellige - while pretty, it's easily the worst map in the game because sailing is so boring and clunky and a third of everything is islands or caches at sea. Hell, the devs even knew it was bad because they added maps to auto-unlock the fast travel points.

Whatever CDPR does next, I want them to remember that restraint is what made the very best they had to offer, not ambition. Ambition gives us cyberpunk, restraint gives us Touissant.

I played witcher 3 more than 10 times i guess. Always enjoyed the journey. Each time.
But If I could reset my memory and relive what I experienced the first time...

Aaah Toussaint
i never felt more at "home" than here, the landscape, the music, the ambiance... geralt couldn't find a better place for his retire.
I think it hits me harder because i live in the south of France, and it's really like Toussaint in some places

This is still to this day one of my favorite large map expansions of any game. I love the lore of the map, especially the land of a thousand fables. I decided to play through NG+ just so I could get a level 100 aerondight and golden tousisant armor from the fables map. It's gorgeous to explore, fight in, and just enjoy the game. 10/10

Bro blood and wine would've been amazing as it's own game. The fact it was a DLC was mindblowing. Witcher 3 is one of the greatest games of all time. And despite its flaws Cyberpunk was fun. CD project is an amazing company

Touissaint itself was so colorful, when we went to the world inside the book during the epilogue, that’s where the real color kicked in. I cant believe they created a whole new world that could only be accessed through a certain decision.
