This video may be 11 years old, but the production is top notch! Your videos are always well produced and great story telling. I enjoy them very much. A very nice touch with the Seaboard Boogie as you are pacing the train. Great way to crown this piece of rail documentation history now.

Just came across this video. I designed the diamond at Ocala you show being installed. Thanks for the video as I've never gotten to go back to visit the finished diamond, I was only there for pre-inspection of the old diamond we were going to replace. This location was quite an ordeal. We originally were only replacing one of the two diamonds (the one farthest from the station), so I had to custom design ours to match to the existing (built by a competitor) diamond that was remaining. But after we delivered the diamond CSX decided to replace both, so it was sent back and we built the other diamond as well.

You're welcome. It's interesting about the concrete ties. The Seaboard had them on parts of the S-Line in the sixties. The siding at Waldo was concrete and I believe part of the approaches to Baldwin yard were as well. CSX ripped that out in the nineties. Now much of the new construction they're doing is concrete.

I assumed that was it. The GPS, since it knows the exact spot you are on the earth at every given second, and the current time on that spot, it obviously knows when local sunrise/sunset is too. Very cool.

Man that's a kickass song. Thanks for sticking it in the video. It makes it all come together. Keep it up my Good Man.

I'm no train-spotter, but videos from "DistantSignal" are so well made that they draw you in. Well done. Keep up the good work.

Hey DH...great shot to include your driver's side rear view mirror 9:38. Thanks for keeping us informed on train numbers, names, MP numbers, related radio chatter and other great stuff. Now, if we only had a caboose, train-order operators and hooping-up those orders. We don't know what we have till we don't have it anymore.

This is one of your best ever! Love the pacing with the upbeat obviously special musical selection at the end, and especially the effect of seeing the locos with the trailing cars in the rear view wing mirror!

I think things were better 12 yrs ago. I heard your voice on the Jacuzzi bath ad on tv.

Great segment Danny. Maybe sometime you could talk more about the concrete ties, their improved capacity and lifespan, etc.
