Will Kinney, professor of physics at the University at Buffalo, explains gravitational waves, which the recently announced BICEP2 experiment seems to have detected. Dr. Kinney was visiting Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics when the results were announced on March 17, 2014.

I'd like to find the reason why it is polarized, i imagine a distortion along one axis leaving the other axis untouched, and why they are polarized around points and in cw and ccw directions.  I watched the BICEP2 press conference hour long video which answered tons of questions, but left me hanging on these ones.  :)  Nice succinct video that helped me with one of the more basic points!
