Buddy, the a520 is just a cheaper cutdown chipset of the b550. You can use (pretty much) the same cpus in it. Its AM4 but i wouldnt put a ryzen 9 in it. It can probably handle a 5800x3d or lower. Its a really budget option for mobos. Also i think you can get a 12th gen i9 rn for pretty cheap. Like $250

hey man, you should've wiped the thermal paste off the stock cooler before putting a different paste on the cpu. it can cause inconsistencies as thermal pastes have different thermal conductivity. this can lead to big overheating and damaging the cpu in the long run
