My aunt worked for an Anglican charity for years in China! I have visited lots of churches and temples in China. Absolutely no issues at all.

I went to China as a tourist, I am muslim I found fairly big mosques in every major city’s center, I went to Beijing, mosques everywhere, Shanghai a mosque besides the Yu garden, Xi’an many mosques in the muslim quarter which is located in the heart of the city (huge mosque there where I attended friday prayer), Chengdu a mosque in the city center on the side of the square in front of Mao’s statue.
I lived in spain before in granada where islam was the main religion for centuries and let me tell you there was only one far away mosque recently built by the king of Morocco.
So don’t tell me China oppresses religion mister ambassador of the united states of Armagedon

First time I went to China maybe 11 years ago, there was headlines in Sweden stating All mosqos was closed in China, funny since I was just meters away from several that was open and active. Shortly shortly after similar headlines stating all churches in China was closed, we was in Shanghai that time and there several churches was open... It's nothing but manufacturing consent and pure propaganda.

Religion should be a private matter. The Western weaponize religion. That can only hurt religion in the end. In China, no one will bother you if you practice your religion privately. What may get you into trouble if you use religion as a weapon for political activity. We all know that Falan Kung is banned in China. But very few know why. Falan Kung was freely practiced in China for a long period of time until its founder mobilized its members to surround the Zhong Nanhai, the China's equivalent of the White House, making political demands.

In China, you have the right to join any religious group and also no one forces you to have any religion.

We need people like you speaking out the truth and debunking the lies by the Western officials, which are obviously said deliberately, purposefully and with an agenda to serve the Western government, the Western ideologies and politics.

China has the most religious freedom. Everyone can practice the religious they believe as long as it stay out of politic and does not cause social issue. I see that as true faith not those that need some politician to enforce on you.

As a Chinese, I really appreciate you spreading the truth. Most Chinese people have no religious belief, so they have no contradiction or hostility toward religion, but oppose crimes in the name of religion. Chinese people's own beliefs are mostly philosophical, mainly the combination of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism(儒释道). In particular, Tao(道) is the Chinese people's cognition of the laws of nature. Everything must be rational(道理), moral(道义), and ethical(道德).
There is an old Chinese saying :
“上善若水。水善利万物而不争,居众人之所恶。故几于道。”
“Perfect natural relationships are like water. Water is good at nourishing all things and has its own form, and does not compete with everyone in the place that everyone hates (the ditch). So water is closest to Tao in behavior.”

In China I met two elderly Muslims in a city (Panjin) with a small Muslim population—35 families they told me. Their large beautiful mosque was built and paid for by the😮 government they said.

Chinese government makes mistakes a lot, but different from the USA. The Chinese government can find ways to solve the problems. Any problems can be solved because of the flexibility of Chinese systems. However problems in the USA would last forever.

You are completely wrong. China has the highest degree of religious freedom in the world. This is not a recent phenomenon. China has the highest degree of religious freedom in the world for the last 2, 000 years. In the West, you have to go back to the Roman Empire to have that kind of religious freedom. You can believe in any religion and the government could not care less.

The problem comes when you insist on intruding into government policy in the name of religion. You need to leave whatever belongs to Caesar to Caesar. The Church does not have the right to put its finger in government affairs in the name of religious freedom.

Ambassador Burns has really taken American “diplomacy” to a new level. Every statement he makes seems to be aimed at worsening the relationship between the 2 countries 😂

religion and China, , , reminding of the events in Hong Kong 2019, , , the Falun Gong sect, , priests (Christians), , and cardinals (Catholics), , all involved in practical politics... when religion is directed horizontally it will become an organization, there are organizations that lead and are led and ultimately can be ridden by other parties...

I wont be surprised if a US politician is hostile to China on religious freedom. In China, a party member is not allowed to be religuos whereas in the US many politicians are religious. In fact, religion has too much power in the US politics and imo it's a terrible thing. Imo I respect religious freedom but also a believer of the separation of state and church.

The following article is written by Ismail Bashmori, he is an Egyptian China watcher.
The truth is that China is the greatest country on the face of the earth. It makes all other countries look insignificant and contemptible. It is the most brilliant, most industrious, most ambitious, most educated, meritocratic and technocratic, most modern, sophisticated, and civilised, and best-governed by far.

It is the first non-white, non-Western country to reach this status since the 1600s. The determination of this country is indescribable. Supernatural. There is no force that can stop it from accomplishing anything it wants to do. 。

It doesn’t matter who we are. Egyptians, Syrians, Pakistanis, Indians, Africans, even Americans. Next to the Chinese, we are pathetic. We can’t do what they do. We would have a mountain, an Everest of changes to make, and we would whine and bicker and fail at every one of them. China’s story since the 1980s has been one of an almost divine metamorphosis. 。

Next to China the entire Western world from Alaska to New Zealand has stagnated. Next to China the entire developing world from Brazil to Madagascar has progressed only at a crawl.

China is the mother of all gargantuan bullet trains. Every day it manages to create something new and astonishing. And unlike the United States, unlike the British Empire, unlike the French, Dutch, Germans, Spanish, Portuguese or any other Western nation that had its turn at being a superpower in the past four centuries, China doesn’t need to run anybody over or take something from somebody else, to rise majestically.

China is also standing up to the West all by herself. The West can’t believe their four-hundred-year-old global supremacy is being challenged. They hoped that the more China developed, the more it would submit to their influence, interests, and leadership. That didn’t happen. So now they will do anything possible, short of a nuclear war, to make China end.

Their goal is to destroy this country. That’s why, although the United States has killed several million people and turned several regions of the earth into hellscapes.

China is the worst fear of our planet’s Western masters. They want you to despise and dread a country that’s done nothing to you, that hasn’t invaded anyone, bombed or sanctioned anyone, that hasn’t overthrown any foreign government, or used its military on anything since 1979.

China is the only major country in the nonwhite developing world, to stand up to the West. To look it in the eye when challenged or threatened.

The Global South are simply Western puppets who submitted long ago. Even the most powerful ones. Saudi Arabia, Brazil, India.
