Does the Honda CRF300L has enough power to ride deep sand on stock tires?
#HondaCRF300L

I had my first 1000 kilometers 600 mile service at the Honda dealer yesterday and today it's my first real off-road ride on the CRF 300 L.
Today it's me on Honda CRF300L, Filipe on KTM 690 Enduro Rally, Hélder on KTM 790 Adventure R,
Nuno on Yamaha T7 and Pedro on the Suzuki DRZ400.

I really enjoyed your video. We have almost no sand where I live but plenty of mud! It produces it's own set of fun and challenges! Thanks for sharing. I'm loving my 300.

Looked like you boys had a great time, good riding! Those KTM ate that sandy hill for breakfast! Hope your friend recovers well :D

Awesome assessment of sand riding at the start 👍 Sand is my favourite surface to ride on, challenging and rewarding. Most of my videos feature sand riding on my stock, except tyres, 2017 CRF250 Rally. I find 2nd best for the real soft stuff, but as you say in big whoops the suspension can cause issues. Always chasing sand. 👍

I just got my 300L. The one thing I noticed about it is the gears are very specific. You need third gear in the dirt. You have to wind third in the dirt and it does well. The stock tires is the other issue. They are good for dirt so far from what light use I have tried. Not bad for stock, but there are better tires for deep sand but do you buy tires just for that? You just find the best tires for your type of riding and that will make a difference. It's never the bike. It's the skill of the rider, understanding the strengths of the bike to get through the course and finally the tires you use.

Give your shock 3 turns to the right and it will fix your soft suspension. I did 4 turns and feels great, night and day difference. I weigh 205-210 lbs. I'm guessing you're lighter than me, so play with it 3 turns or maybe 2. Complete turns from where it is stock. There are marks on both rings.

The trick to riding sand is speed and be on the throttle steer with the rear we say in Michigan that’s all we have sugar sand.

Great video. Yeah, the trick to riding in the sand is to keep your weight back on the rear tire while standing and ride as fast as you can without crashing, lol...

Novice, but I’m curious how u had issues with the gears when that’s something you’re in control over?

Went to buy one last week. No stock until March. They wont even take my money for a pre-order.

Hello, thanks for the video. I never saw a review of the 300l on sand.

I´m thinking on buying a 300l . I´m from Argentina, here you have the xre300, that on papers seems to be kind of similar.
I was looking for something more offroad, that s why I like when you enter the sand =)

Which was your old bike?

Sand riding a climbs are not about power (unless you are highly skilled rider and want to go very fast).

It's about skills, experience and weight of the bike.

Of course it has enough power... Begin 90's we rode 125's with about the same amount of power, top end power only.
In the Netherlands, where I live, about 90% of the tracks are deep sand tracks...

Power is enough, ok bit more helps, but the rider (skills / bodyposition) and the suspension are the biggest challenges.

In lots of your shots more power would only dig it in deeper. There's a reason all the enduro pro's ride on bikes with about max 50hp.
